Letting Go of Self-Criticism and Guilt
Otley Court House, Otley
Saturday 1 June , 10am – 1pm
We are often our own harshest judge, developing high expectations of ourselves and then beating ourselves up when we don’t reach them. Free yourselves from guilt, anger, jealousy and resentment and move forward with confidence and optimism for the future.
Self-criticism and guilt don’t help us to become a better or more effective person, in fact, they tend to hold us back and keep us stuck in unhelpful habits. Furthermore, they destroy our inner peace and self-confidence and can even lead to depression and other self-destructive habits.
In this half-day workshop we will engage in simple and effective guided meditations for overcoming feelings of self-criticism and guilt. We will explore how we can develop comfortable and realistic expectations of ourselves, whilst steadily working to grow and improve.
Anyone can attend this meditation event; it is suitable for complete beginners and those with some experience. The cost of the workshop is £15 (GP Centre Card £5).
This course will be taught by Kelsang Dra-ma, a student of the Teacher Training Programme at Buddha Land Buddhist Centre, Keighley.
