Be Kind to Yourself, Overcoming Self Criticism
Otley Court House, Otley
Saturday 15 February , 10am – 1pm
Let go of critical minds that cause unhappiness, guilt and negativity. Learn instead to use meditation to think in ways that uplift your mind and make you feel happy, strong and confident.
Often we can be our own harshest judge. Self critical thoughts and guilty minds often arise from having very high expectations of ourselves which are almost impossible to reach and as a result can lead to us beating ourselves up when we don’t live up to them. These states of mind never help us to become a better or more effective person, in fact they prevent us from becoming the person we have the potential to be. In this meditation workshop we will learn how to accept ourselves, how to develop more realistic and beneficial expectations of ourselves, and how to be kind to ourselves .
Anyone can attend this meditation event; it is suitable for complete beginners and those with experience. Everyone is welcome.
The cost of the workshop is £15 (GP Centre Card £5).
This course will be taught by Kelsang Dra-ma, a student of the Teacher Training Programme at Buddha Land Buddhist Centre, Keighley.
