Realised Masters of Meditation Day Retreat
Guided Day Retreat
In-Person @Keighley & Livestreamed Online
Sunday 8 November, 9.30am – 3.30pm
(available for 48 hours after on catch up)
This retreat involves imagining our world as the beautiful, perfect place it could be if all those of us who inhabited it cared deeply about each other and our environment. By imagining a pure version of our planet and offering this to the Buddhas, we create the causes for our world to heal, and for us to enjoy actually living in a world which has reached its full potential.
Take a day to learn about, and engage in, the hugely benefical practices of offering a pure world, or mandala, to the Buddhas. Gen Päljin will guide us through the practice of mandala offerings during three fully guided sessions.
In order to purify our mind and accumulate positive mental energy (merit), there are standard practices that have withstood the test of time. Two of these are Guru Yoga, the gateway to receiving the blessing of all the Buddhas, and making Mandala Offerings, the gateway to accumulating a collection of merit. This day retreat encompasses both these practices. Gen Päljin will explain both and guide us in each practice.
If you have a mandala kit then please have it to the ready. If you don’t have one, and would like some information about how to make a DIY version, then please contact us. But a kit isn’t necessary – the real practice is in what we do with our mind.
The cost of the day retreat is £18 (Monthly Members £5; FP Members £5).
The sessions will be guided by Gen Kelsang Päljin, Resident Teacher of Buddha Land and Burnley Kadampa Buddhist Centres, who is appreciated for offering clear guidance on meditation and living an exemplary, positive life.
9.30am – 10.45am – Session 1
11.45am – 1.00pm – Session 2
2.15pm – 3.30pm – Session 3
